Rani’s music journey began on the island of Cyprus where he began seeking the best selections: sensual World Beat, House, Global Soul, Jazz and Hip-Hop - an eclectic playlist honed by a dedicated artist. Even from a young age he responded with fascination to all of the musicality around him. His first experience DJ'ing was at the age of ten when he blended tunes using two cassette tape decks. In his teens, one of Cyprus' most notable DJs, saw Rani's potential and began to mentor him, honing his blends and giving him opening slots at one of the capital's finest clubs. At the turn of the century Rani's journey brought him to America where he was further exposed to the roots of house and various types music through some of Phoenix's best DJs, weeklies and special events.
World Famous Rani “g” has since become a mainstay in the thriving and diverse music community of Phoenix, Arizona. Whether he’s behind the turntables or producing large-scale, multifaceted events, Rani knows how to please the crowd. Well-versed, he integrates the right music selections for each distinct occasion.
Rani's mixes have aired on XM Satellite Radio’s Deeper Shades of House, cyberJAMZ and Pressure Radio UK. His guest DJ appearances include venues in Cyprus, Jordan, Canada, Dominican Republic, Mexico, San Francisco, San Diego, Los Angeles & Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, Miami, Dallas and Omaha. When the Gipsy Kings performed in Phoenix, Rani opened and closed the night.
His driving passion is to elevate music and performance in Metro Phoenix. He loves programing for corporate and private clients, performing with live musicians, dancers, singers and collaborating on signature events like; Veuve Cliquot Polo Classic, Key To The Cure, The Special Event, Night Circus and A Night To Remember. Rani produced the entertainment portion for the Phoenix Art Museum’s 50 Year Anniversary and the hugely popular Walkabout. He’s been instrumental in bringing local talent into the spotlight across multiple music genres and continues to attract international DJ headliners to the area.
